Beyond Prodigy and Blooket: Designing Solutions That Match Classroom Instruction.

My students love the games. They just don't teach the strategies we practice in class — so I built one that does.

My middle school diverse learners love playing popular math games like Prodigy or Blooket. As their teacher, I quickly noticed a major flaw: unfamiliar strategies.

During skill practice with ratios or dividing fractions, these sites push solution steps that conflict with my classroom instruction. Unfamiliar methods cause confusion — forcing my students to guess new approaches rather than apply the scaffolded steps we practiced, like Keep-Change-Flip or ratio tables.

To close this gap, I built MathMissions.org — a platform delivering engaging gameplay built strictly around my daily strategies.

A clean, dark-mode layout cuts visual noise, keeps my students focused on one skill at a time:

One problem, one strategy, one confirmation. The reward for a correct step is the next step — not a leaderboard.

By aligning a web-based solution directly to my classroom scaffolds, MathMissions.org removes strategy barriers, unlocks the general education curriculum, and leaves my students feeling accomplished and rewarded.
